Contract Summary
This is a Cooperative Stewardship Agreement (L25-10140951) for habitat improvement entered into between Ian Tomlinson of Vera Earl Ranch Inc. (Cooperator) and the State of Arizona through the Arizona Game and Fish Commission and its administrative agency, the Arizona Game and Fish Department (Department). The agreement authorizes the execution of a Cooperative Habitat Improvement Project on lands owned or controlled by the Bureau of Land Management, specifically at the Maternity Well Site located in Game Management Unit 34B within the Las Cienegas National Conservation Area.
The project, titled "Maternity Well Water Enhancement," involves solar conversion of the Maternity Well, installation of two 5,000-gallon storage tanks, and pipeline maintenance to provide water for wildlife habitat improvement, particularly to support pronghorn antelope and black-tailed prairie dog populations. The Department will reimburse the Cooperator up to $21,000.00 for materials, labor, and associated costs, with payment due within thirty days of receipt of itemized invoices. The Cooperator must complete all project work by June 11, 2026, and submit documentation confirming cultural compliance with the Bureau of Land Management before commencing work. The agreement extends for ten years from the date of last signature, with annual monitoring and final assessment of project effectiveness to be completed jointly by the parties. Either party may terminate the agreement with sixty days' written notice.
