About this file

This document is a letter from Kraft Werks Engineering (KWE) to Bobby Baker, WTE Maintenance Supervisor at the City of Tampa's McKay Bay Waste to Energy Facility, dated January 21, 2025. The letter discusses four ash extractors designed and fabricated by KWE for the City of Tampa in 2022-2023 under project numbers 2475 and 3119. KWE emphasizes its corporate history, tracing its origins to the ash handling groups from Howden NA and previously TLT-Babcock, Inc., and asserts its proprietary rights to all ash handling related information and designs.

The letter positions KWE as the sole-source supplier of aftermarket items for the ash extractor equipment, highlighting the company's exclusive capability to provide replacement parts and maintenance services. By establishing this sole-source status, KWE aims to create a long-term maintenance and supply relationship with the City of Tampa's McKay Bay WTE Facility, ensuring that they will be the primary vendor for future ash extractor-related needs. The communication suggests a strategic approach to maintaining a specialized equipment partnership with the municipal waste management facility.
