About this file

This is Addendum No. 1 to a design-bid-build (DBB) procurement for the Kennesaw Campus Gateway Project at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia, issued on April 10, 2026. The project involves general contractor professional services for campus infrastructure improvements including bioretention stormwater management systems, site furnishings, electrical power connections, landscape installation, and irrigation systems. The amended construction set will be distributed on April 15, 2026, with bids due on April 30, 2026. A mandatory site visit is scheduled for Friday, April 17, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Campus Entry Lawn, with visitor parking available at Lot A. The substantial completion date for the project is August 21, 2026. Bidders are instructed to base proposals strictly on the contract documents without value engineering alternatives, as this is a hard bid procurement with a complete design at the time of bidding.

Key clarifications in this addendum include the elimination of the monument sign from the project scope, confirmation that bioretention is the basis of design for stormwater management, and confirmation that a specification manual will not be provided—instead, project-specific information and detailed specifications are contained in the drawings and KSU's Design & Construction Standards. For unsuitable soil conditions, bidders must include unit pricing per cubic yard for removal and replacement including labor, equipment, disposal, and imported backfill. The irrigation system scope requires bidders to assume a complete system with a 2-inch meter line, shop drawings, one revision to shop drawings, and as-builts in AutoCAD format. A geotechnical report and survey dated February 5, 2026, are available to bidders. Parking fees are required for general contractors and subcontractors during site visits. KSU does not designate required or preferred subcontractors or vendors; all procurement must comply with USG Board of Regents and State of Georgia procurement policies.
