About this file

This Performance Work Statement (PWS) details a comprehensive boiler inspection contract for the Department of the Air Force at King Salmon and Eareckson Air Stations. The contract requires inspecting 39 high-pressure steam boilers and 3 Unfired Pressure Vessels installed between the mid-1900s and 2022, with the primary objectives of evaluating each unit's overall condition, determining remaining life expectancy, and identifying parts requiring immediate or future replacement. The contractor must have a National Board Inspection Code (NBIC) Certification and will be responsible for conducting inspections at both locations, preparing detailed reports within 15 days of completion, and including all associated travel and accommodation costs.

The performance period is from August 4 to September 30, 2025, with the contractor required to inspect all boilers by September 31st each year. Travel logistics include commercial air to Anchorage, government rotator flights to Eareckson Air Station, and then commercial airlines to King Salmon, with strict requirements for coordination and approval from the Government Project Manager. The contractor must comply with all safety regulations, remove construction debris, manage project documentation, and provide cost estimates for repairs based on inspection results. Each boiler's detailed specifications, including manufacturer, serial number, and BTU input/output, are comprehensively listed in the document's appendices for Eareckson and King Salmon locations.
