4. Reason for Authority Cited: The OTSG, USAMEDCOM has the responsibility to host the Army Medicine Department’s Align, Modernize, and Prepare Summit. This annual summit will be attended by approximately 100 of the US Army top medical delegates. This summit will utilize multiple secure conference rooms to discuss various medical operations and procedures. This summit will require around the clock security due to the importance of the attendees and this facility is the only location that could be used to support all the logistics needed to support this summit.

The use of this centralized facility would decrease the overall cost of the Temporary Duty budget that would increase if this summit were to be held in a different location.

5. Efforts to Obtain Competition: A special notice was issued to inform the marketplace of the Government’s intent to award a sole-source contract for this requirement. The notice clearly communicated the intent to pursue a sole-source award, but it also invited other interested vendors to submit their capability statements for consideration. This approach provided an opportunity for potential

vendors to demonstrate their ability to meet the Government's requirements.

Responses would be thoroughly reviewed to determine if any other sources could meet the requirement, thereby promoting a fair and open process. No responses were received.

6. Currently, there is no projected follow-on contract. If there is a follow-on requirement in the future, the Contracting Officer will begin a competitive acquisition process.
