About this file

This justification and approval document authorizes a sole source contract award to Tim Price, Inc. for the procurement of mast systems and accessories from their supplier MastSystem INT'L OY. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division requires these products to modernize equipment used by the XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX, including meeting height, antenna proximity, compatibility, and environmental resistance requirements. Only MastSystem's products have passed testing for this application. Changing suppliers would require reengineering, retesting, and documentation updates at an estimated additional cost of XXXXX with delays of up to XXXXX. The incumbent mast systems are interoperable with existing fielded systems and were used in prior prototypes and testing. Market research found no other suppliers. The contract award is considered fair and reasonable in cost. The agency will continue evaluating alternative technologies to allow for future competition.
