1. Contracting Activity: Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 06, Charles George VA Medical Center, 1100 Tunnel Road, Asheville NC 28805. Purchase Request Number: 637-23-2-996-0075
2. Brief Description of Supplies/ Services required and the intended use/Estimated Amount: The Charles George VA Medical Center have a requirement to procure the Valleylab F10 Generator Ligasure with accessories for the Operating Room (OR). 3. Unique characteristics that limit availability to only one source, with the reason no other supplies or services can be used: Charles George VA Medical Center have a requirement for the F10 Generator Ligasure with accessories. The FT10 generator is currently on hand and used in the OR/endo suite for patient care. The request for the additional FT10 generator will add to the inventory supplies, accommodate surgical scheduling, provide uninterrupted care and services for veteran patient needs. The requested generator is identical to the generator currently on hand, uses the same disposables, and the buttons and functions are the same. Procuring the same brand of generator will aid in standardization, training initiatives, and eliminate the burden/cost of having different vendors on site for repairs and replacements.
4. Description of market research conducted and results or statement why it was not conducted:
Due to the brand-name only nature of this requirement, market research consisted of contacting the OEM to inquire about authorized distributors, OEM revealed 3 SDVOSB authorized distributors resellers capable of providing the needed items.
