About this file
This document is an Antiterrorism Awareness pamphlet for contractors working at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst (JB MDL) in New Jersey. The pamphlet provides guidance on identifying and reporting potential terrorist threats, defining terrorism as "the unlawful use of violence to instill fear and coerce governments or societies," which is often motivated by religious, political, or ideological beliefs. Contractors are instructed to be alert to their surroundings, looking for suspicious activities such as unauthorized surveillance, unusual vehicle behavior, unfamiliar people or vehicles, and potential elicitation of sensitive information.
The document outlines four Force Protection Conditions (FPCON) levels - Normal, Alpha, Charlie, and Delta - each representing escalating threat levels with corresponding security measures. Contractors are advised to report suspicious activities to the 87th Security Forces Squadron at (609) 754-6001, providing specific details like their name, location, and description of the observed threat. The pamphlet emphasizes that contractors are "Force Multipliers" providing additional vigilance to help maintain security for the base community and surrounding area, with the overarching motto "WIN AS ONE".
