About this file

This document is an Antiterrorism Awareness pamphlet for contractors working at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst (JB MDL) in New Jersey. The pamphlet provides guidance on recognizing and reporting potential terrorist threats, defining terrorism as "the unlawful use of violence to instill fear and coerce governments or societies," which is often motivated by religious, political, or ideological beliefs. It outlines specific surveillance indicators contractors should watch for, including unfamiliar people or vehicles, vehicles with expired tags, illegally parked vehicles, and repeated vehicle passages.

The document details four Force Protection Conditions (FPCON) levels: Normal, Alpha, Charlie, and Delta, each representing escalating threat levels with corresponding security measures. Contractors are instructed to report suspicious activities to the 87th Security Forces Squadron at (609) 754-6001. Key reporting guidelines include providing one's name and location, describing the suspicious activity clearly, giving building details, and remaining at the location until security forces arrive. The pamphlet emphasizes that contractors are "Force Multipliers" providing additional vigilance to help maintain security for the base community and surrounding area.
