About this file
This justification document and related notice of intent support a sole-source contract award to FLIR Commercial Systems, Inc. for one portable FLIR X8501sc SLS longwave infrared camera system. The Army Contracting Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground seeks this camera to support testing through May 2020 using fiscal year 2020 funds. Market research found FLIR Commercial Systems to be the only company offering a research-grade infrared camera meeting requirements for temperature detection from 7.5 to 12 microns at the specified Army test site. As the original equipment manufacturer, FLIR is the sole provider of the specified X8501sc SLS camera. The notice of intent allows interested parties until May 27, 2020 to provide evidence competition is possible, otherwise the sole-source award to FLIR will proceed.
