The term pattern sidings describes a variety of siding products in which the board has been machined on the edge(s) and face(s) to produce siding with interlocking or overlapping joints and with smooth surfaced or rough sawn faces. These sidings fall into two broad groups: tongue and groove and lap.

TONGUE & GROOVE

Western Red Cedar tongue and groove is widely used for its good looks and versatility. It can be installed horizontally, vertically or diagonally, each method giving a distinctly different look.Tongue and groove siding is available with rough or smooth faces. Both seasoned (kiln-dried) and unseasoned (green) sidings are available.

The joints between adjoining pieces are usually v-shaped but flush jointed, reveal and radius joints are also available. The different joints and surface textures in tongue and groove siding combine to provide a range of shadow line effects that enhance the product’s versatility.

Tongue and groove siding is manufactured in clear grades suitable for a more formal, elegant appearance, particularly when pieces are smooth faced. Knotty grades are in demand for their smart, casual look.

Note: Be aware that lam inated glazing constructions may have increased optical distortion and/or strain iridescence from stacked multiple individual layers especially when the glass lites are heat treated. In addition transmitted and reflective color differences can occur when a low-e or reflective coating is located adjacent to the interlayer material. A coating facing an airspace in an IG unit may appear a different color than the same coating in a lam inate.

The results represent Center-of-Glass performance data based on ANSI/NFRC 100 and ANSI/NFRC 200 Environmental Design Conditions utilizing the LBNL Window

7.3 software program according to the procedures in ANSI/NFRC 100, ANSI/NFRC 200, and NFRC 300. Performance data is based on representative samples of factory production. Actual values may vary slightly due to variations in the production process. This data is to be used for comparison purposes and should not be considered a contract. For configurations that include diffuse components, performance results cannot be verified and should only be used as a general indication of performance. It is the recipient’s responsibility to ensure the manufacturability of the above glazing configurations as well as evaluating appropriate design considerations such as wind and snow load analysis, thermal stress analysis, and local building code compliance. Vitro recommends that a full size mock-up be reviewed under the specific job-site conditions and retain the mock-up as a basis of acceptable product.

SRI For installations where a higher level of protection against weather conditions, or the effects of a potentially corrosive atmosphere is required, LCN offers a special rust inhibiting (SRI) process. Ferrous metal components receive an SRI pretreatment and a standard powder coat finish of your choice, or a custom powder coat finish for a nominal additional cost. Closers treated with the SRI process exceed the 100 hour protection level available with standard LCN powder coated finishes.
