About this file
This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the Library of Congress's Preservation Research and Testing Division detailing requirements for a 150-megapixel monochromatic hyperspectral camera system. The Library seeks a scientific imaging camera capable of capturing images between 350-1000 nanometers with native monochrome resolution and large dynamic range for non-destructive analytical research and environmental degradation assessment of collection materials. The camera must integrate with the existing Megavision hyperspectral imaging system, lens, filter wheel, and Photoshoot capture software currently operational in the PRTD laboratory.
The contract deliverables include the camera unit with bellows, connection cables, and mounting fixtures; all installation materials and updated software or licenses required for seamless system integration; onsite installation by a service engineer with user familiarization training to be completed within 10 days of delivery; and a comprehensive one-year warranty covering all parts and labor with unconditional coverage and onsite repairs. The camera must be delivered within 90 days of contract award, with payment due upon installation and specification validation. The contractor must furnish all travel and shipping expenses associated with delivery, installation, training, and service visits to the Library's Madison Building in Washington, D.C., and conduct business during standard hours of 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays and government closures. The related federal contract opportunity indicates this is being pursued as a sole source award to Transcendent Imaging LLC, the manufacturer of the Megavision Q15 system specified as the only responsible source meeting the Library's requirements.

150 Megapixel Monochrome Hyperspectral Camera
| 1. | OVERVIEW / BACKGROUND. The Library of Congress (Library) requires contract support to purchase a 150 megapixel (MP) scientific monochromatic camera capable of image capture between 350 – 1000 nanometers (nm). This camera must be able to interface with the existing Megavision hyperspectral imaging system currently in use in the Preservation Research and Testing laboratory. The increased resolution and dynamic range of this type of camera is necessary for non-destructive analytical research, spectral materials characterization, and mapping and assessment of environmental degradation parameters of a broad range of Library collection. | |
| 2. | SCOPE. The Preservation Research and Testing Division (PRTD) seeks to obtain a 150-megapixel scientific monochromatic camera. This camera must be able to interface with the existing Megavision hyperspectral imaging system and Photoshoot software currently in use in the PRTD laboratory. The purchase shall include all parts (camera, bellows, connection cables, and fixtures for mounting onto a copy stand), installation, shipping, and one year of repair and service support. | |
| 3. | REQUIREMENTS. The contractor shall provide: | |
| 3.1. | A hyperspectral camera that shall have the following capabilities/specifications: | |
| 3.1.1 | A native monochrome camera back, 150-megapixel resolution, and a large dynamic range for advanced image processing. | |
| 3.1.2 | Compatibility with Megavision hyperspectral imaging system, including lens, filter wheel, and Photoshoot capture software. | |
