About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) is for an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). The contract requires the procurement of analytical UPLC columns and QUECHERS sorbent kits for use in liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry at three USDA laboratories (Eastern, Western, and Midwestern).
The technical requirements specify three types of UPLC columns with precise specifications (C18 and C8 columns of varying lengths and diameters) and one type of QUECHERS sorbent kit with Weak Cation Exchange (WCX) stationary phase. Order quantities range from 30-450 units for columns and 100-2,500 boxes (50 tubes/box) for sorbent kits. Delivery is required within 14 calendar days of order receipt, with orders typically placed quarterly. The primary purpose is to support USDA FSIS laboratories in checking for aminoglycosides and pesticides in the nation's food supply. The contractor must provide a point of contact and submit an annual cumulative order report two weeks before each contract period ends.

Project IDIQ for Analytical UPLC columns and QUECHERS sorbent kits
General Information
1.0 Scope of Work
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) requires analytical UPLC columns and QUECHERS sorbent kits used for the chromatographic separation of analytical compounds by liquid chromatography (LC) or liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry/mass spectrometry (LC/MS/MS) in the form of an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract.
2.0 Background
The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), a public health regulatory agency of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), protects consumers by ensuring that meat, poultry, and egg products are safe, wholesome, and accurately labeled. USDA FSIS has three analytical laboratories (Eastern, Western, and Midwestern) that use the Analytical UPLC columns and QUECHERS sorbent kits to check for aminoglycosides and pesticides within the nation’s food supply. These laboratories are operated under the Office of Public Health Safety (OPHS).
The Columns separates analytes of interest based on molecular characteristics, most commonly hydrophobicity. The QUECHERS sorbent kits are composed of 50 mL conical centrifuge tubes filled with pre-weighed a specific solid phase.
