Performance Work Statement Summary
This is a Performance Work Statement (PWS) for auxiliary machinery work aboard USS Ship (LCC 20), Item No. 0501, categorized as Category "A" with a contract number AWP-N-TBD (MTA) and due date of August 28, 2026. The work requires removal, installation, and crating of two Main Air Ejector and Condenser assemblies located in the Engine Room Upper Level (7-86-0-E). Each unit manufactured by Graham Manufacturing weighs 2,980 lbs with 146 tubes and is fabricated from ASTM B1111 copper alloy.
The contractor must execute the following primary tasks: rig the existing Main Air Ejector and Condenser assembly from the Engine Room to Main Deck; uncrate and rig the new assembly from Main Deck to the Engine Room; assist Ship's Force in conducting hydrostatic testing; rig the new unit onto the foundation; replace and target new piping and flanges for five connection points (Condensate Supply/Return, Gland Seal Steam Exhaust, Intercondenser Drain, and Aftercondenser Drain); crate the old unit using the original shipping crate for international shipment; and install new insulation and lagging per NAVSEA specifications. Piping materials include seamless drawn copper tubing and bronze flanges with silver braze connections, except for the Gland Seal Exhaust line which requires seamless carbon steel piping and carbon steel flanges. Quality assurance requires compliance with General Technical Requirements (GTRs 1-7, 22-24, 28-29), dual-point lifting with fully-rated equipment, NDT Dye Penetrant Testing of all welds, and calibrated load testing of a minimum twelve pad eyes. Ship's Force provides gasket materials and handles all shipping logistics including crane services. The contractor must conduct a site survey to assess rigging challenges and provide all remaining materials, equipment, and labor.

7.0 STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIRED
7.1 Ship’s Force to Lock Out Tag Out steam / condensate piping components.
7.2 Rig the Air Ejector Condenser and associated Air Ejectors from the upper level of the engine room to Main Deck.
NOTE: Suggested rigging path is through the ladder wells on the port side of the engine room and then aft down the port side passageway of 4th deck to the Cargo Elevator. Contractor to verify dimensions and rigging path during Ship Check.
7.3 Place removed Air Ejectors and Condenser on pallets and protect from weather.
7.4 Open crate and remove new Air Ejector and Condenser Assembly.
NOTE: Expect assembly to be in one piece. Air Ejectors and components may be removed from Condenser to facilitate rigging.
NOTE: Care is to be taken when opening the crate as it will be re-used for shipment of old Air Ejector Assembly.
