shipboard condition.

3.1.1.3 Accomplish the requirements of 009-12 of 2.1, including Table 2, Column A, Lines One through 7.

3.2 Accomplish the requirements of 009-25 of 2.1 for an air hose, water hose, or vacuum box test of each new weld seam. Allowable leakage: None.

3.3 Repair and material less than the amount identified and not accomplished in 3.1 will be subject to recoupment.

(V) "VISUAL INSPECTION"

3.1 Accomplish a visual inspection of the bulkhead listed in 1.3 for structural integrity, deterioration, pitting, each crack, and each area of damage or distortion in each location listed in 1.2, as designated by the SUPERVISOR.

3.1.1 Submit one legible copy, in approved transferrable media, of a report listing results of the requirements of 3.1 to the SUPERVISOR.

3.2 Accomplish repair of the bulkhead located in 1.2 using 2.2 and the report generated in 3.1.1 for guidance, as designated by the SUPERVISOR.

3.2.1 Remove existing and install new a total of 2 square feet of plate.

3.2.1.1 Chip and grind each surface flush in way of each repair.

3.2.1.2 Template size, configuration, and location from each

shipboard condition.

3.2.2 Base metal weld build-up a total of 6 inches of plate defects.

3.2.2.1 For bidding purposes the base metal weld build-up must be one quarter inch thick.

3.2.2.2 Surface must be ground to sound metal prior to base

3.2.2.4 Grind each surface of completed base metal weld build-up smooth if greater than one eighth of an inch above plate surface.

3.3 Accomplish the requirements of 009-12 of 2.1, including Table 2, Column A, Lines One through 7.

3.4 Accomplish the requirements of 009-25 of 2.1 for an air hose, water hose, or vacuum box test of each new weld seam. Allowable leakage: None.

3.5 Accomplish the requirements of 009-11 of 2.1.

3.5.1 Accomplish the requirements of 009-12 of 2.1 for each new fastener (stud) to support insulation and lagging.

3.5.2 Accomplish the requirements of 009-32 of 2.1 for each surface to be insulated with the exception of non-ferrous and corrosion resistant steel (CRES) piping, plating, and vent ducting.

3.5.3 Accomplish the requirements of 009-32 of 2.1 for new

insulation, lagging, and each reusable cover to match surrounding area.

3.6 Repair and material less than the amount identified and not accomplished in 3.2 will be subject to recoupment.

3.7 Accomplish the requirements of 009-32 of 2.1 for each new and disturbed surface.

3.1 Accomplish a visual inspection of each area listed in 1.3 for structural integrity, deterioration, pitting, each crack, and each area of damage or distortion in each location listed in 1.2, using 2.2 through

2.4 for guidance.

3.1.1 Submit one legible copy, in approved transferrable media, of a report listing results of the requirements of 3.1 to the SUPERVISOR.

3.2 Accomplish repair of each area located 1.2 using 2.2 through 2.4 and the report generated in 3.1.1 for guidance, as designated by the

SUPERVISOR.

3.2.1 Remove existing and install new a total of 3 square feet of plate.

3.2.1.1 Chip and grind each surface flush in way of each repair.

3. REQUIREMENTS:

3.1.1 Retain each hose insert and flange for installation.

3.1.2 Restore each piping flange mating surface exposed by

disassembly of piping system. Repair by removing each high spot, burr, abrasion, and foreign matter, where removal can be accomplished by a hand tool. Maintain phonographic finish on each flange that has it.

media, of a report listing the identification tag test data for each hose assembly tested to the SUPERVISOR.

3.1.7 Install each new hose assembly in accordance with Chapter 8 of 2.2.

3.3.5 Base metal weld build-up and straighten a total of 2 linear feet of knife edge and gasket channel using Paragraph 600-2.2.2.2.4.1 of 2.4 for guidance, as directed by the SUPERVISOR. Grind each build-up area smooth and fair in with each surrounding surface.

3.3.6 Chip and grind each surface flush in way of each repair.

3.3.7 Accomplish the requirements of 009-12 of 2.1, including Table 2, Column A, Lines One through 7.

3.4 Accomplish the requirements of 009-32 of 2.1, including Table 3, Line 21, Columns A, B and E for the preservation of the upper side of the scuttle listed in 1.3 and located in 1.2.1.

3.4.1 Accomplish the requirements of 009-32 of 2.1, including Table 3, Line 28, Columns A, B and D for the preservation of the lower side of the scuttle listed in 1.3 and located in 1.2.2.

3.5 Assemble the scuttle using each part retained in 3.3, using 2.2 and

2.3 for guidance.

3.5.1 Install new rubber silicone gasket conforming to A-A-59588, Grade 30, Class 2B for scuttle listed in 1.3.

3.5.2 Install the scuttle removed in 3.2.

3.5.3 Apply zinc dust-petrolatum antiseize compound conforming to commercial specification A-A-59313 to each fastener thread.

3.5.4 Lubricate each exposed working part, using general purpose grease conforming to MIL-DTL-23549.

3.5.5 Adjust and align the scuttle closure in accordance with Section 7 of 2.4.

3.5.5.1 Adjust each dog, hinge and wedge for positive dogging action.

3.6 Accomplish the requirements of 009-25 of 2.1 for a chalk test of each structural closure repaired in 3.3.

3. REQUIREMENTS:

3.1 Remove each BERP listed in 1.3 and located in 1.2, using 2.2 and 2.3 for guidance.

3.1.1 Prior to equipment removal, install temporary containment to preclude entry of inclement weather during accomplishment of each repair.

3.1.2 Weld fill, drill and tap 4 each BERP bolt holes as directed by the SUPERVISOR.

3.1.3 Repair and material less than the amount identified and not accomplished in 3.1.2 will be subject to recoupment.

3.2 Power tool clean to bare metal each BERP listed in 1.3 and located in 1.2, to include each bolting ring internal and external surface extending 3 inches beyond the bolting ring, as designated by the SUPERVISOR. Accomplish each requirement of Surface Preparation Specification SSPC-SP 11 of 2.4.

(I) "BOLTING RING INSPECTION"

3.3 Accomplish a visual inspection of each bolting ring surface for each plate listed in 1.3 for structural integrity, deterioration, pitting, each crack, and each area of damage or distortion in each location listed in 1.2, using 2.2 and 2.3 for guidance.

3.3.1 Submit one legible copy, in approved transferrable media, of a report listing results of the requirements of 3.3 to the SUPERVISOR.

3.4 Install each BERP removed in 3.1 in accordance with 2.2 and 2.3 and the following.

3.4.1 Remove all dust, dirt, oil, grease, wax and loose paint from each sealing surface. Wiping with an approved solvent will aid in preparing the surface for bonding.

3.4.2 Install new each gasket conforming to the material

requirements of 2.2 and 2.3.

3.4.2.1 Use 3M Scotch-Weld Neoprene High Performance Contact

Adhesive 1357, or 3M High Tack number 76 Spray for contact cement.

3.4.2.2 Apply adhesive to one side of gasket and corresponding flange on BERP cover.

3.4.2.3 Install gasket on BERP, keeping each bolt hole aligned.

Use a small roller 3 inches wide with maximum body pressure to help ensure adequate contact and bonding, especially on each edge.

3.4.3 Install new each monel fastener conforming to MIL-DTL-1222, Type I, GR 400, QQ-N-281, MIL-F-18240 Type P, NSN 5305-01-371-8463.

3.4.3.1 Apply zinc dust-petrolatum anti-seize compound

conforming to commercial specification A-A-59313 to each fastener thread prior to installation.

3.5 Accomplish the requirements of 009-32 of 2.1, including Table 2, Line One, Columns A, B, C, E and G for the preservation of each deck located in 1.2.2 and 1.2.4.

3.5.1 Accomplish the requirements of 009-32 of 2.1, including Table 3, Line 6, Columns A, B and D for each bolting ring internal surface extending 3 inches beyond the bolting ring and the internal surface of each BERP listed in 1.3 and located in 1.2.1 and 1.2.3.

3.5.2 Accomplish the requirements of 009-26 of 2.1, including Attachment G, for installation of Peel and Stick nonskid, for each
