About this file
This is an Item Description document from the Department of the Air Force, Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex (OC-ALC), Tinker Air Force Base, for procurement M26-016. The 76 MXSG is requesting one (1) Bruker Invenio Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer (FTIR) with a 20-meter fixed path-length gas cell optimized for quantitative gaseous analysis, and one (1) Bruker Hyperion II FT-IR Microscope for advanced materials characterization. The FTIR must include a benchtop system with integrated laser alignment capability (±0.1 m accuracy), high-sensitivity DTGS detector, spectral resolution of 0.4 cm⁻¹ or better, KBr beamsplitter covering 8,000–300 cm⁻¹ (with optional extended range 11,000–350 cm⁻¹), wavenumber accuracy of 0.01 cm⁻¹ or better at 2000 cm⁻¹, and a permanently aligned interferometer. The fixed path-length gas cell must have an aluminum body with corrosion-resistant coating, operate up to 3 ATM with calibrated pressure gauge, easily accessible mirrors, and heating capability to ≥100°C.
Both instruments require comprehensive user manuals (electronic PDF and printed), latest manufacturer's analytical software with full instrument control, automatic water vapor and CO₂ compensation, robust quantitative analysis methods (CLS, PLS algorithms), standard spectral processing functions, Microsoft Windows 11 compatibility, and Microsoft Office Small Business Edition or equivalent. Each delivery includes a dedicated computer and monitor meeting manufacturer's specifications, all unique operation supplies plus 60-day consumables (desiccant, cleaning materials), and special tools for routine maintenance and alignment. Both instruments require one day of on-site setup and one day of on-site training (minimum 8 hours) by a qualified service engineer with performance verification testing, plus an additional 8 hours of training for Air Force chemists covering basic operation, custom quantitative method development, and programming, with documentation of installation and verification procedures provided.
