About this file

The document is an Invitation to Bid (ITB #9-2024/2025) issued by Gulf Coast State College in Panama City, Florida, for the demolition of Natural Sciences Buildings A and B. The project involves the complete demolition and removal of two single-story buildings, including site improvements, below-grade construction, and utilities. A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for July 8, 2025, at 2:00 PM CT in front of the Health Sciences Building. Sealed bids are due on July 29, 2025, at 2:00 PM CT, with bid opening immediately following. The project requires a Florida licensed General Contractor, and the contract specifies a 120-calendar day completion timeline with liquidated damages of $500 per day for delays beyond the substantial completion date.

The bid documents indicate that asbestos abatement will be required, particularly in Building B, which contains friable asbestos in the popcorn ceiling texture and non-friable asbestos in window caulking. Bidders must obtain bid documents from DAG Architects for a $250 refundable deposit, with fifteen sets of documents and a PDF disc provided. The college will provide 25% of the contract payment upon mobilization and the remaining 75% upon project completion. Bidders must submit one original, eight copies, and an electronic thumb drive of their bid package, along with various required forms including anti-collusion, conflict of interest, drug-free workplace, and e-verify certifications.
