About this file

This document is a Written Answers to Questions document from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) for Invitation to Bid (ITB) 2603, specifically addressing a Glock Firearms Acquisition and Trade-In solicitation. The document provides official responses to two vendor questions regarding specific requirements for Glock firearm models, including the 43X model. The solicitation appears to require Glock firearms with specific features such as three (3) LEO magazines, standard triggers, and an extended slide release.

The document clarifies two key points for potential vendors: first, that the Glock 43X can be delivered without an extended slide release since Glock does not manufacture one for this model, and second, that vendors will still be held to the 40-day delivery requirement even for models that are currently allocated and may not be immediately available. These written answers provide critical guidance for vendors preparing to bid on the firearms acquisition project, ensuring clear understanding of the contract's technical specifications and delivery expectations.

FDLE ITB 2603

Glock Firearms Acquisition / Trade-In

All written questions are reproduced in the same format as submitted by the Vendor.

Question #1

The solicitation requests that all models include three (3) LEO magazines, standard triggers, and an extended slide release. While this is not an issue for most models, we understand that Glock does not manufacture an extended slide release for the 43X model.

· Would a non-Glock manufactured extended slide release be acceptable for the 43X?

· If not, please confirm that the 43X can be delivered without the extended slide release, as no Glock-manufactured version exists.

Answer #1 We will accept receiving the Glock 43X without an extended slide release.

Question #2

Regarding delivery timelines, some of the specified models are allocated and may not be available immediately.

· Will vendors still be held to the 40-day delivery requirement, even for allocated models?

Answer #2 Yes, vendors will still be held to the 40-day delivery requirement.
