About this file

This is a Request for Proposal (RFP) issued by Onslow County Schools' Procurement & Materials Management Department for LAN/WAN Cabling Installation and Repairs across all of the district's schools and facilities. The RFP (No. IT1100L-2) seeks a contractor to provide comprehensive cabling installation, maintenance, and repair services for network infrastructure, with a mandatory pre-bid meeting scheduled for July 10, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the district's Central Office. The contract will cover the period from the date of award through July 31, 2026, with an option to extend for an additional three years. Proposals are due by July 17, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., and the work will involve installing, maintaining, and repairing Category 5, 5E, 6E, fiber, TV, and intercom cable runs across multiple school sites in Onslow County.

The pricing structure is comprehensive, with unit pricing for various cable installation types, including different categories of network cabling, fiber optics, TV and video cables, and phone/intercom systems. Pricing is requested per foot, per unit, or per run, covering everything from cable installation to termination, testing, and certification. The contractor must provide all labor, tools, and equipment, with specific requirements for technician qualifications, safety protocols, and work conditions. The RFP includes detailed specifications for cable installation standards, labeling requirements, and provisions for service calls, with a penalty clause of $50 per day for failing to complete work within the agreed timeframe. The solicitation encourages participation from historically underutilized businesses and includes provisions for federal funding compliance.
