About this file
This document is an Invitation to Negotiate (ITN) issued by the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) for the purchase of Michigan Farm to Family activity books from the Michigan Fitness Foundation (MFF). MFF is the sole provider of these proprietary books, which will be distributed to sponsors in the Summer Food Service Program. The ITN outlines the purchase quantities and pricing for four books, totaling 219,420 books at a cost of $375,340 including shipping. The ITN includes the contact information for the Solicitation Manager, Carol Munroe, and the deadline for potential bidders who do not agree that MFF is the sole available source to submit a response by September 2, 2021.
The pricing details provided indicate the cost per book for each of the four titles, ranging from $1.24 to $1.82 per book. The ITN states that MFF holds the exclusive intellectual property rights for these materials, and no other organization or vendor is licensed or permitted to produce or distribute them. This appears to be a proprietary purchase with MFF as the intended sole source.
