About this file

This Notice of Intent to Sole Source outlines the Department of Veterans Affairs' plan to issue a Firm-Fixed-Price Purchase Order to IonOptix LLC for a specialized Calcium and Contractility System. The system is designed for advanced cardiac research, capable of simultaneously recording primary cardiomyocyte calcium, contractility, intracellular calcium concentration changes, and cardiac myocyte dimensions at high-frequency sampling rates. The complete system includes multiple hardware components such as an LED light source, optics package, interface and acquisition core, high-speed CMOS video system, cell framing adapter, photomultiplier tube sub-system, stimulation chamber, and microscope, along with comprehensive software modules for data acquisition and analysis.

The solicitation provides vendors an opportunity to demonstrate capability to meet the requirement, with responses due by 3:00 pm CST on July 22, 2025, to Joseph.Bennett@va.gov. The government anticipates awarding the contract on July 31, 2025, with a performance period of 8 weeks. Respondents must include company details, SAM UEI number, business size/type classification, and information about schedule contracts. The procurement is classified under NAICS 334516 with a size standard of 1,000 employees, and the government reserves the right to determine whether to conduct a competitive or small business set-aside procurement based on responses received.
