This document contains inquiries and responses for Contract No. FODPTT26SB, a commercial painting, wall preparation, and wallpaper removal project for the Office of Traffic Building #1 in Maryland. The project encompasses work in a training room (approximately 10 feet ceiling height) and two identical offices (approximately 8 feet ceiling height each). The scope includes surface preparation, coating application, wallpaper removal and debris disposal, and bulkhead painting in the training room. All square footage measurements provided are approximate, and contractors are responsible for verifying actual measurements on-site. Ceilings are excluded from the painting scope except for bulkheads in the training room. The contract specifies a 60-day completion timeframe, with all work expected to be completed free from defects and corrected at no cost to the administration if issues arise.
The bid pricing includes a dedicated line item for all coatings and materials; the state will not furnish paint or primers. Contractors must assume responsibility for all surface preparation beyond the scope notes, including potential skim coating, joint compound application, and adhesive remediation as detailed in the "Prep Walls" section of the Invitation for Bid (IFB). All work must comply with Maryland's environmental painting regulations and utilize industry best standards for environmentally preferable products. Mobilization, supervision, protection, and cleanup costs must be incorporated into the fixed bid amount. The contract manager will handle furniture covering and relocation, coordinate work scheduling with the contractor, and manage facility access. Post dates for inquiries and responses were March 1, 2026, with inquiry dates ranging from February 26 to February 27, 2026.
