STATEMENT OF NEED
SUBJECT: Individual Protective Equipment Shelving System
The main function of these shelves is to contain all the items and gear that is issued and maintained by the Mobility/ Individual Protective Equipment (IPE) section. The IPE section issues out and returns protective equipment for the entire wing and functions at a much slower and inefficient pace without a proper storage system. These shelves need to be able to be opened and moved at a reasonable speed for an efficient work pace and have safety measures in place.
The shelves need to be taken out and disposed of before the replacements are installed.
Key elements:
• 100'L x 26'D x 13'H maximum area
• 21,000 lbs. per shelf
• Minimum foot-print of 2,200 sq. ft.
• 24” minimum shelf depth
• Modifiable storage system
• Mechanically operated system
