About this file

The document is an official Notice of Imminent Danger placard issued by the Department of Permits, Licenses, and Inspections for the City of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The placard indicates that a specific property or structure has been deemed unsafe and its occupancy has been prohibited by the city's code official under City Code 109.1 for Dangerous Structure or Premises. The notice outlines potential penalties ranging from $1 to $1,000 per violation per day, with the possibility of additional legal actions, license revocations, and court proceedings if violations are not corrected.

The corrective action required is for the property owner to obtain the necessary approvals, permits, and/or licenses to either demolish or repair the structure. The property owner has the right to appeal these violations within 30 days by submitting an appeal form to the City of Pittsburgh's Department of Permits, Licenses, and Inspections. Any actions taken by the city's authority will be charged against the real estate and become a lien on the property. The notice warns that defacing or removing the Imminent Danger placard without official approval may result in additional penalties.
