About this file
This is a specifications document for laboratory workstations and shelving equipment required by the PIMC (Pathology/Laboratory Department) Microbiology section. The document was prepared by Zerveni Oliver and Deana Thompson on 09/25/2025 and outlines the minimum product requirements for equipment replacement necessitated by the removal of contaminated asbestos and granite countertops.
The specifications detail workstation and shelving requirements across four rooms. Room #1 requires three worktables (L-shaped 72"x56", and two fixed tables at 60" and 66" lengths), all with steel construction, lower shelves, slide-out keyboard trays, locking casters with 9" clearance, edge-banded high-pressure laminate work surfaces, wall-mounted painted steel shelving (14"D x 36"H), and one 3-tier stainless steel rolling cart (16-3/4"D x 30"L x 32"H). Room #2 includes fixed casework with stainless steel work surface, a 30" sink base cabinet with double-hinged doors and 16"x12"x8" sink, a 36"W x 18"D flammable storage cabinet with adjustable shelf, and a 20"x24" workstation with half-depth steel shelf and 9" clearance. Room #3 features two 70"x36" microscope worktables with full-depth steel shelves and stainless steel work surfaces, one 21"x22" analyzer worktable with edge-banded laminate surface, and wall-mounted adjustable steel shelving. Room #4 specifies a 72"x30" workstation with half-depth shelf for CPU tower and a 32"W x 36"D analyzer worktable, both with keyboard trays and locking casters, along with wall-mounted adjustable steel shelving. All workstations must be ergonomically designed, resistant to fungi, viruses, bacteria, and chemicals, and easy to clean to prevent contamination.
