Repair Plumbing at MCC New York

1. Paragraph H6 of the statement of work indicates to provide and install clevis hangers for the copper lines. The existing water main is installed with trapeze style hangers supporting multiple utility lines. Is it acceptable to re-use the existing trapeze hangers?

ANSWER: Yes you will be able to reuse the hangers. So they will not create corrosion between the hanger and the copper lines.

2. During the site visit, I noticed a spigot and several other

3/4" connections points that are not identified on the drawings.

Is it possible to get a count of all connections to the water main?

ANSWER: Yes we have three 3/4” hose spigots coming off the water main. You will be changing the piping for the ¾” spigots just the water main tees that ¾ hose spigots branch off of.

3. In a few areas, the piping is located above a hard gypsum ceiling. Is it the contractor's responsibility to remove and replace these ceilings? Similarly, in a few locations the piping is located above light fixtures. Is it the contractor's responsibility to move these light fixtures?

ANSWER: The institutions staff will be responsible for the removal of the hard gypsum ceiling, ceiling tiles and light fixtures

4. Are there any storage locations available for our use during the project? We would be interested in storing piping, valves and other accessories if possible.

ANSWER: We have a storage location that would only be able to hold material for the daily work being done. We will have a location in the pump room to store all of your daily tools.
