About this file
This is an addendum to Invitation for Bids (IFB) #773 issued by the County of Accomack, Virginia, regarding waste tire transportation services. The County of Accomack is soliciting sealed bids from qualified transporters to haul car, truck, and off-road tires collected at two county locations: the Northern Landfill at 9400 Cutler Lane in Atlantic, Virginia, and the Southern Transfer Station at 16640 Hollies Church Road in Melfa, Virginia. Addendum #1, issued on May 28, 2026, addresses a bidder question regarding equipment specifications and clarifies that bidders may propose alternative transportation methods beyond the originally specified open-top semi-trailers.
The addendum confirms that roll-off container systems with equivalent hauling capacity and continuous swap capability are acceptable alternatives to traditional open-top semi-trailers, provided the containers can be loaded with machinery such as an excavator and maintain similar volume capabilities through more frequent container exchanges. All other specifications, terms, and conditions from the original invitation for bids remain unchanged. The question was submitted on May 27, 2026, indicating active bidder engagement with the solicitation.
