About this file

This document is a Questions & Responses file related to an Invitation for Bid (IFB) issued by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation for Almond Orchard Tree Removal, Grinding and Chipping Services (IFB#SP22022310). The IFB is for the removal, grinding, and chipping of approximately 17,500 almond trees across 160 acres located at the Central California Women's Facility in Chowchilla, California. The contract involves the complete removal and processing of the trees, with no vegetation to be left behind. A walkthrough is available for interested bidders to view the site and scope of work.

The IFB does not require any specific licenses or permits, aside from the standard DIR requirements. Bidders can use their own experience and reference sheets to fulfill the requirements. The procurement allows for bids on the mastication process, as long as the entire orchard is removed. Bidders are advised that the State of California is exempt from forestry-related paperwork for this agricultural project. No on-site trailers will be permitted for security purposes.
