About this file

This is an Invitation for Bid (IFB) issued by the City of Atlanta, Department of Watershed Management, for the procurement of fire hydrant assemblies, repair parts and tools, resilient wedge gate valves, and valve box assemblies. The specification document establishes minimum requirements across four product groups: Mueller Fire Hydrant Assemblies (Group I), Fire Hydrant Repair Parts and Tools (Group II), Resilient Wedge Gate Valves (Group III), and Valve Box Assemblies (Group IV). The IFB requires bidders to state either "Compliance" or "Exception" for each specified requirement, with check marks or other markings not acceptable. No substitutions are permitted for fire hydrant assemblies or upper section components; all fire hydrant parts and specialty tools must be manufactured by Mueller Water Products unless otherwise approved by the Department of Watershed Management.

The specification document details extensive technical requirements for each product category, including materials, dimensions, pressure ratings, testing standards, and certifications. Fire hydrant assemblies must be Mueller Super Centurion 250 A-423 models with 250 psi working pressure, specific nozzle configurations, and AWWA C502 and ANSI/NSF-61 compliance. Resilient wedge gate valves must meet 250 psi minimum working pressure with ductile iron construction, epoxy coatings per AWWA C-550, and specific seal and stem requirements. Valve box assemblies must be gray cast iron, two-piece screw type units rated for H20 traffic loading and compatible with East Jordan Iron Work Product No. 85502737. All vendors must provide certification that products meet specified requirements and that all required testing has been completed with passing results. The document includes an acknowledgment section requiring authorized bidder representatives to sign and provide company information, supplier ID, and contact details.
