About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers response set from the California Department of Education (CDE) regarding Invitation for Bid (IFB) CN260066 for Textbook & Instructional Materials Large Print Conversion Services. The CDE seeks a single vendor to provide large print conversion services for textbooks and instructional materials on an as-needed basis. The services encompass hard cover and soft cover books in both black and white and color formats, with historical ordering patterns averaging 10-30 copies per individual title. Turnaround time requirements are detailed in the IFB document, Page 19, Exhibit A, Scope of Work, Article V.H. The anticipated contract award date is May 2026, following completion of bid analysis. Bid submissions must be submitted in accordance with the procedures outlined in the IFB Document, Pages 8-10, General Information, Article XII, and email submission is not permitted.

The tentative annual contract value is $500,000 per year; however, this amount is not guaranteed due to the as-needed nature of the services. The incumbent vendor is Latiker, Inc. dba InfoCon, and reference to the incumbent vendor's rates is available in Questions and Answers Document #1, Response 1. The CDE does not currently have historical annual spending data on large print conversion services available. This is a single-award contract, meaning only one vendor will be selected for the duration of the contract term.
