About this file
This is an Invitation for Bids (IFB) issued by the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) of the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) for the removal and recycling of used oil, oil filters, and antifreeze from MTA facilities across the state. The IFB seeks an experienced contractor to provide these services for a 3-year contract term. Key details include a requirement for a minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience in this type of work, proper licensing and permitting, and adherence to all applicable environmental regulations. The MTA is seeking bids for the collection, transportation, and recycling of these materials, with service locations and estimated quantities provided. Bids are due on March 18, 2024, with a public bid opening the same day. The contract will be awarded to the responsible bidder submitting the lowest total bid price.
The IFB notes this is an "as-required" contract with no guaranteed minimum quantities, but the MTA will pay the contractor based on actual volumes removed and recycled. There are no MBE or VSBE participation goals for this procurement, and it is not designated as a Small Business Reserve. The MTA intends to make a single award for the work under this IFB.
