About this file
The document is an Invitation for Bid (IFB-7499B) issued by the City of Yonkers for the Yonkers City Hall Mayor's Office, located at 40 South Broadway, Yonkers, NY. The project involves designing, furnishing, and installing a complete glass curtain wall system and a medium-stile aluminum entrance door. The curtain wall will be approximately 117" x 84" with an arch, featuring a Type 250, 2-panel non-bullet-resistant aluminum system with a black or clear anodized finish. The entrance door will include specific hardware such as back-to-back pull handles, an electric strike, an Adams Rite 4591 curved exit paddle, and an exterior key cylinder, all in black finish.
Work is to be performed outside normal City Hall operating hours (8am to 4:30pm, Monday-Friday) with prior approval from the Department of Public Works (DPW). Contractors must coordinate closely with City Hall operations, maintain site cleanliness, and are responsible for repairing any damage at no cost to the City. Special care must be taken to avoid drilling or boring into the existing marble surfaces, with work limited to areas above the marble. The project specifications include using tempered safety glass and ensuring all framing and hardware have a black aluminum finish. An example of the desired curtain wall design is provided in Exhibit "A", which shows an arched glass entryway with architectural details matching the project requirements.
