About this file

This document is a material specification from the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) Maintenance of Way Division for resilient fastener tie plates. The specification outlines the requirements for new 115/132 tie plates, including conformance to AREMA standards, four-hole punching, flat low-carbon steel construction, and approved Pandrol-type weld-on shoulders. The plates must be neatly stacked and securely banded or crated for delivery, and are subject to inspection upon receipt. Rejected materials will be returned to the supplier at their expense.

The related state and local contract opportunity is for IFB 74-24 Adjustable Cast Plates, which appears to be a separate solicitation issued by the MBTA for this type of trackwork material. No additional details are provided about the contract opportunity, such as quantities, response dates, funding information, or contract term.
