About this file

The document is a Cost Proposal (Invitation for Bid No. 25-0106) from the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) for ground application of pesticides for eradication and control projects against plant pest diseases in Sacramento, Placer, and surrounding counties. The bid solicits pricing for pesticide application services focusing on Japanese beetle control, including spray truck applications, hand sprayer applications, and pelletized or granular formulation applications. The bid requires detailed cost breakdowns for application rates, equipment costs, and specific pesticide chemicals like Acelepryn in both granular and liquid forms.

The cost proposal requires bidders to provide fixed unit rates for various pesticide application methods, with pricing to include all associated costs such as mixing, loading, equipment, fuel, and maintenance. The document specifies that application rates must follow product labels and special local need (SLN) labels, and includes provisions for a PCA Lead Service at an hourly rate to provide pesticide safety training, prepare reports, and ensure regulatory compliance. The bid comparison will be based on converting application rates for granular (pounds/square foot) and liquid (gallons/square foot) formulations, with a fixed rate established for each pesticide type used in the project.
