About this file
This is Addendum 2 to Invitation for Bid (IFB) #10114806 issued by the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) on April 26, 2016, addressing questions from the original IFB posted on April 1, 2016. The addendum specifically addresses a single question regarding bonding requirements for emergency work services to be performed for DWR.
The document clarifies that DWR will not waive the bonding requirement for this contract, despite the contractor's concern that the scope of work is not guaranteed and is based on emergency work with hours worked rather than a total contract amount, which makes it difficult for bonding companies to determine their upfront fees.

INVITATION FOR BID
ADDENDUM 2, BID #10114806
NOTICE TO PROSPECTIVE BIDDERS
April 26, 2016
This addendum is meant to address a question for Invitation for Bid (IFB) No. 10114806, as originally posted on April 1, 2016.
Question # 1: Bonding for this contract is hard to determine because the contract is not a guaranteed scope of work for the contractor and is more set to emergency work for the DWR. Bonding companies require a dollar amount to base their fees they charge a contractor upfront. Because this contract is determined by the engineer in charge on hours worked and not total contract, would the DWR waive the bonding requirement?
Answer: No.
