About this file
This document is a comprehensive set of construction plans for a federal highway project involving improvements to Trestle Creek Road in Idaho's Kaniksu National Forest.
The project, designated ID FLAP Bonner 841(1), involves 3.81 miles of roadway improvements from milepost 100 to 103.7 in Bonner County, Idaho. The work includes bank stabilization, culvert replacement, roadway aggregate and asphalt concrete pavement, approach and turnout construction, soil erosion and sediment control, drainage improvements, and temporary and permanent traffic control measures. The design specifications reference Standard Specifications for Construction of Roads and Bridges on Federal Highway Projects, FP-14. Construction involves asphalt concrete pavement (approximately 7,541 tons), 8,767 cubic yards of aggregate base, 6,094 linear feet of silt fence, 4,314 linear feet of fiber roll, bank stabilization at four sites using placed riprap and mitigation materials, removal and cleaning of 32 existing culverts, and installation of 88 linear feet of 18-inch pipe culverts. Temporary traffic control includes portable message signs, pilot car services for approximately 99 days, and traffic control supervisor coverage. Permanent traffic control consists of sign systems, delineators, and pavement markings throughout the corridor. The project staging area is located at approximately 39,000 square feet near the project terminus, with survey control established using Idaho West State Plane Coordinates and NAVD88 vertical datum. The plans were approved by Brent L. Coe, Chief of Programs, Western Federal Lands Highway Division, dated September 10, 2025.
