Contract Type: FFP Task order with up to four option years Incumbent and their size: CDO Technologies, Inc.
Method of previous acquisition: Sole Source Description of Requirement:
Special Operations Aviation must anticipate acoustic (aural) detection of aircraft over hostile areas. Many mission sets require low level flight operations which are extremely susceptible to ground fire engagement. The U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) requires decision support technology enabling planners and aircrews the ability to anticipate when and where special aviation activities will become acoustically detected by insurgents. The Battlespace Acoustics Branch within the Air Force Research Laboratory’s 711th Human Performance Wing (AFRL/711 HPW) is leading an advanced research program to develop new measurement, modeling and simulation capability to predict aircraft audibility.
The Contractor will assist the Government research team in dealing with complex data sets from outdoor and indoor test facilities and laboratories. Reliable data capture, tracking, organization, networking, storage, processing and management inside government furnished high security areas will be essential. The Contractor’s team will be required to travel to key locations within the United States to accomplish the mission; however, majority of the work will be accomplished on Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio inside government furnished facilities. The Contractor’s team will facilitate acoustic flight testing, acoustic and meteorological measurement, outdoor sound modeling, human listener perception modeling and geospatial mapping of the modeled outputs for mission planning and simulation.
