P-8A SE air conditioner key salient characteristics

· Triple outlet air conditioning unit that can produce sufficient cooling to cool the P-8A cabin to acceptable temperatures in less than two hours, without exceeding the aircraft’s maximum pressure limitation

· The cooling capacity shall be a minimum of 115 tons

· The air flow through a single outlet configuration shall be a minimum of 400 lb/min

· The total air flow through a dual outlet, simultaneously operated configuration shall be a minimum of 700 lb/min

· The unit shall have the capacity to provide 35°F discharge temperature at the full flow rate through any two outlets simultaneously (at 120F)

· Must have a built-in heating capacity to provide a minimum of 750,000 Btu/hr to dehumidify the discharge air

· Triple (3) outlets are required. Two of the outlets allow for hoses to be run to the aircraft’s primary ECS port and simultaneously through the sonobouy freefall tube. The third outlet allows for another hose to be used to cool other mission equipment installed on the aircraft.

· Must be able to operate in environments with a minimum ambient temperature of 0°F and a maximum of 150°F

· Minimum discharge air static pressure shall be a minimum of 1.5 psi

· Must be fork lift transportable

· Must be trailer mounted.

· Must be tractor towable

· Must be air transportable, to include installed tie down rings

· When configured for air lift, unit must weigh less than 14,500lbs

· Must operate using a Tier3 engine

· Must be able to be exposed to all weather conditions, without cover or protection, and operate outside during usage and storage time without degradation or corrosion

· Must be able to operate a minimum of 10 hours on one full tank of fuel

· Must have a fuel/water separator

· Must have a low coolant level shutdown

· Must not exceed a two (2) minute warm up and one (1) minute cool down of systems

· Can be changed from cooling to heating w/o tools and by the operator

· Must have calibrated gauges on the control box that the read engine RPM and air discharge pressure and temperature

· Must have solid rubber tires

· Must use R-134r refrigerant

· Must have a regulated RPM control throttle

· Must have 3 independently operated, flow controlled, 12 inch diameter outlets Must be provided with the following:

· QTY(1) One- Air delivery hose- 30 foot lay flat insulated 12 inch to 8 inch diameter

· QTY(2) Two- Air delivery hose- 50 foot lay flat insulated 12 inch to 8 inch diameter

· One end of each hose must be able to connect to the air conditioning cart only and not be reversible with the aircraft connection coupling

· Must have low fuel flashing beacon indicator
