How do you want us to respond to the RFP with respect to base year pricing for Teflon filters? |
2.
2.1.1
Please confirm that ASTM D645-97 is an acceptable equivalent to TAPPI T551.
The SOW has been revised to reflect that ASTM D645-97 is the primary method and TAPPI T511 –alternate method. .
3
2.2.2
This RFP identifies 33 metals. Please confirm that the listing in the RFP is what EPA desires.
The listing of metals provided in the statement of work is the official list.

6
2.1.2
In the past, EPA required the following modifications to ASTM D828-97 for tensile strength of quartz filters: 1) Tensile specimens 20 mm wide and cut from the filters so that the length of the strips is along the 8-inch dimension (the machine direction of the sheet material from which the filters are cut). 2) The gauge length (distance between the jaws of the clamps) to be 50 mm. 3) The crosshead or pull rate to be the standard rate of 0.5 in/min. Please confirm that these method modifications are no longer required.
The method modifications are still required. ASTM D828-97 will be the primary method, with TAPPI T494 provided as the alternative method.
7
2.1.1
Please confirm that T494 is the correct method for tensile testing of glass fiber filters.
