About this file
This is Appendix A to an RFI for enhancing pharmacy countermeasures in independent pharmacies, which outlines the working list of capabilities and infrastructure that independent pharmacies need to provide pharmacy countermeasures.
The appendix details specific requirements across several key areas: operational needs (program management, staffing, training), regulatory compliance (CLIA Certification, practice agreements), IT systems (patient screening, scheduling, specimen tracking, reporting), and business functions (data management, quality control, MCM sourcing). It also covers reimbursement models for both insured and uninsured patients, including establishment of billing avenues for pharmacy and medical benefits. Additional requirements include public health reporting capabilities, local marketing/community engagement strategies, and patient education programs. The document serves as a framework for understanding the comprehensive infrastructure needed by independent pharmacies to effectively deliver testing, vaccines, and therapeutic services.
