About this file

This is a specification document for a hydraulic press brake procurement issued by the Maine Department of Transportation (MDOT) Fleet Services. The solicitation requests a 350-ton hydraulic press brake designed for heavy-duty fabrication operations, with specific dimensional constraints (maximum 120 inches in height, 57 inches in width, and 159 inches in length) and a maximum weight of 38,000 pounds. The equipment must include specified features such as a one-shot lube system, variable tonnage control, front fence light curtain, power front reading backgauge with five-station NC positioning, and a sixteen-inch open height. The procurement also includes a comprehensive tooling package consisting of four-way dies with multiple Vee sizes, gooseneck punches, U-5 punches, and segments ranging from 1 inch to 48 inches. The unit must comply with ANSI, NFPA, and OSHA standards and be of current manufacture with all standard items as specified by the manufacturer. Bidders are required to submit detailed specification sheets with their proposals and must be able to deliver, set up, and provide training within eight weeks of delivery at the Maine DOT Fleet Service facility in Augusta, Maine. Maine DOT reserves the right to pre-inspect equipment before delivery.

The award will be made on a best-value basis considering price, warranty, manufacturer performance data, delivery schedule, and parts availability. All bid pricing must include shipping, delivery, and setup costs. The vendor is required to provide two sets of owner, parts, and operator manuals and arrange training within eight weeks of delivery unless other arrangements are necessary. A one-year parts and labor warranty applies, or the standard manufacturer's warranty if it is greater, with the warranty beginning on the date the unit is placed into service. Bidders must submit all questions and exceptions through the official Question and Answer link during the bid period, as questions obtained through other means are not valid for the request for quotation. Upon delivery, all necessary paperwork, billing invoices, and manuals must accompany the equipment.
