About this file

This document contains questions and answers regarding a federal solicitation for an immersive wall projector. The solicitation seeks to install projectors on two 16-foot walls, one 30-foot wall, and maximize usable floor space by projecting images less than 10 feet in height rather than fully illuminating the walls. While the projections must connect at corners, the side walls only need coverage of roughly 14 feet rather than the full 16 feet. Image blending of overlapping projected images is preferred to achieve a continuous image without gaps over aligning images side-by-side. Amendment 1 to the solicitation should be acknowledged in any submitted quote.

HU000123Q0036 Immersive Wall Projector Questions and Answers

1) Regarding the projection requirements for the two 16x10 walls and the 30x10 wall:

a. Is the goal to have these walls fully illuminated by projection top-to-bottom? This would result in a significantly reduced floorspace where a person can move without casting shadows on the projected images. This is not recommended.

b. Alternatively, is the goal to maximize the working floor space by using an optimal projector/lens combination? This would mean the projected images will be less than 10 feet in height. This is recommended.

Usable floor space is priority.

2) Is the goal to have the side walls (16ft each) fully illuminated by projection side-to-side? I understand that it is critical that the projection images connect at the corners with the front wall. The question is if it is a requirement that the projection continues all the way to the back wall at 16ft, or could the projection images fall a couple feet short of reaching those far corners?

The far sides of the 16ft walls are not critical for projection. So, if we can cover, roughly 14ft in length of each of the 16ft walls, that is okay.

3) Is there a requirement for image blending? When multiple projectors are required to fill a single wall length, we are presented with an option:

a. Image Blending: projection images overlap and blending software combines the images into one continuous image.

b. Image Budding: we align the projector images side-by-side without overlap. No additional software is required.

We do not want gaps between the projected images. However that is achieved is okay.

Please acknowledge Amendment 1 to the solicitation in the attached documents and submit your acknowledgement with your quote.
