Diagram 1 (Layout of the lockers)
Diagram 2 (Unit Side Slope elevation Dimension)
Solicitation Number: HU000118QT391 (Wood Lockers)
1. We will need to know the actual locker count in each run. See attached diagram 1.
2. Please advise also if any run has lockers along a wall or are back to back. Back-to-back; see attached diagram 1.
3. Line item 0002 Sloped Canopy Tops lists QTY as 6. Can I get more detail? See attached diagram 2.
4. Is this a 1 piece top that will cover each of the 6 runs or can the sloped canopy be made in sections on each run? See attached diagram 1 & 2.
5. What is the degree of “slope” designed for the top of the lockers? See attached diagram 2.
6. How is the access to current locker location? Steps, ramp or? The receiving dock, located on the ground floor, is approximately less than a qtr. mile through ground floor corridors to the freight elevator. The installation site is one floor up once you are at the freight elevator.
7. Are you asking for a raised center panel of solid maple wood? Please refer to RFQ.
8. Are there any additional details of how you want the sloped canopy to appear? See attached diagram 2 and RFQ for specifications.
9. There are 6 banks of wood lockers….25’, 25’, 15’, 22’ 15’ 22’. You ask for 6 Sloped canopy tops. Do you want the canopy tops to be one each ….25’, 25’, 15’, 22’ 15’ 22’ in length? See attached diagram for specifications.
10. I can do the locker frames in ¾” plywood instead of melamine with particleboard substrate which I believe would be better. Since the frames (sides and backs) will not be seen when the lockers are butted together why put matching melamine with particleboard substrate there. I would put a protective finish on the plywood. See RFQ for specifications.
11. I can do 12 end panels with raised solid maple to match the fronts of the lockers. I can do a solid maple panel without the raised panels. Or I can put a solid maple wood raised panel on the end lockers eliminating the need for the 12 end panels. Refer to RFQ for specifications.
12. Do you want all of the lockers in each bank to be permanently fastened to each other? See attached diagram 1 and RFQ for specifications.
13. You are requesting 185 lockers. The picture shows 6 banks of lockers back to back. That makes an equal number. Where would the extra locker be placed? The number of lockers being requested is reduced to 184. Please see attached diagram 1.
14. A 25’ bank of lockers would consist of 34 (17 back to back) lockers. A 22’ bank of lockers would consist of 30 (15 back to back) lockers. A 15’ bank of lockers would consist of 20 (10 back to back) lockers. That is a total of 178 lockers 17” wide. If you add 2 lockers to each bank of lockers the total would be 190 lockers. Can you clarify the number of lockers? See attached diagram for specifications.
15. Per your information sheet Item #7 the lockers that match the picture have ¼” frames and 1/2'”doors.Is this acceptable? Please refer to RFQ for specifications.
16. Where is the spec sheet for the lockers? Please refer to RFQ package.
17. Does the picture you sent of the lockers the same as the lockers to be removed? No, the picture attached to the RFQ is how the new lockers should look.
18. Can I get information on the manufacturer of the existing lockers double door wood?
Arrowood Manufacturing is the manufacturer.
19. Would you consider a proposal for 'laminate' wood lockers? No, please refer to RFQ for specifications.
20. Does that mean the lockers must be designed identical to the design in the photograph? The photo attached to the RFQ is how the new lockers should look. Please refer to RFQ for specifications.
21. Is there a commercial loading dock available that can accommodate a standard 53’ trailer to unload the lockers? Yes.
22. Are there any steps/elevators that needs to be taken to move lockers from the unloading point to the locker room? Roughly, what’s the distance to the locker room from the unloading area? The receiving dock, located on the ground floor, is approximately less than a qtr. mile through ground floor corridors to the freight elevator. The installation site is one floor up once you are at the freight elevator.
23. Can a site visit be arranged before the bid opening? No site visit is being offered.
24. Is the project tax exempted? Typically, Maryland educational facilities are tax exempted. USU is tax exempt.
25. Do you require after hours or weekend work? No after hours or weekend work is required.
26. Is the proposed contractor to assume they will be removing and disposing QTY 185 lockers from the premises? No, 500 wood lockers will need to be removed.
27. Please confirm this number. See attached diagram 1.
28. Does the client have a disposal plan/location area that they would like the existing lockers to be placed/stored? Contractor will be responsible for removal and off-site disposal of existing lockers.
29. Is the contractor expected to dispose of them as it sees fit? Contractor will be responsible for removal and off-site disposal of existing lockers.
30. Will this be located on the 1st floor or higher in the proposed building? The receiving dock, located on the ground floor, is approximately less than a qtr. mile through ground floor corridors to the freight elevator. The installation site is one floor up once you are at the freight elevator.
31. Is there a loading dock near the proposed location where the project will be performed? The receiving dock, located on the ground floor, is approximately less than a qtr. mile through ground floor corridors to the freight elevator. The installation site is one floor up once you are at the freight elevator.
32. Will he client provide measurements on the exact space where the proposed effort will take place? See attached diagram 1.
33. What is the desired timeline from removal to installation desired on this proposed effort?
Timeline to remove existing lockers and install new locker is approximately 7-10 days.
34. Shall we assume that all lockers will have sloped tops? See attached diagram 1 & 2 and RFQ.
35. Typically, Sloped Tops are priced per linear foot- If we should assume that not all proposed 185 lockers will receive sloped tops, can we be given an approximate linear foot measurement needed for this? See attached diagram 1 & 2 and RFQ.
36. Do you want identical solid maple "Z Style" doors with the same handles, locks, numbering discs, vents, etc. as your current lockers? Refer to RFQ and attached information.
37. Should the Sloping Canopy Tops be a one piece unit for the back to back lockers, roughly 40" wide, for each Bank of lockers as described in the solicitation? This would result in only 1 large top for each bank of lockers, making a total of 6 Sloping Canopy Tops. This will look much nicer than individual sloping tops on each locker. See attached diagram 2.
38. Are the z shaped lockers displayed in the provided photo the same basic shape lockers and doors that you want installed, or is a two tiered locker equally divided straight across the middle an acceptable layout? We would like the new lockers to resemble the photo as much as possible.
39. Can you confirm that you require 370 separate lockers within 185 total cabinets? Please see attached diagram.
40. Do you require 370 unique keys? See attached diagram 1. Each locker should have a unique key.
41. Should the end panels be solid maple square raised panels or maple veneer end panels?
Please refer to RFQ.
42. Do you know the pitch of the slope you wish for the locker roof, do you have a maximum height for the middle, or can we provide what makes sense as there is no ceiling height concern in your facility? See attached diagram 2.
43. Can you confirm that a receiving dock is available for loading and unloading or will a lift gate be required? The receiving dock, located on the ground floor, is approximately less than a qtr.
mile through ground floor corridors to the freight elevator. The installation site is one floor up once you are at the freight elevator. No lift gate required
44. Can you describe the logistics between the location of the unloading area to the installation area? For example, distance in feet, number and width of doorways, stairs, elevators, etc. that will be encountered. The receiving dock, located on the ground floor, is approximately less than a qtr. mile through ground floor corridors to the freight elevator. The installation site is one floor up once you are at the freight elevator. No lift gate required
45. Will the removal and disposal of the current lockers include uninstalling and if so, how are they attached to the floor/wall? Yes. Existing lockers sit on a wood base on the floor. No lockers are attached to walls. See attached diagram 1
46. It appears from the image that at least some of the current lockers reside against a wall but that the new lockers will not. I assume that we are not responsible for what the wall and floor look like underneath the current lockers and consequently the quote should not include any correction to these areas. Can you please confirm? Existing lockers sit on a wood base on the floor. No lockers are attached to walls. See attached diagram 1
47. Is there security requirements to access the area of delivery for drivers and installers? Yes, details will be coordinated prior to installation.
