Statement of Work
SECTION 1 – BACKGROUND
The Breast Milk Refrigerator is an electrically operated unit primarily used in the Neonatal Intensive Care and in the Perinatal Specialty Care Units. This equipment is a critical requirement in support of patient care. The refrigerator is used to store breast milk, which is patient specific, at required temperatures that prevent it from spoiling. Un-refrigerated breast milk is only usable if it has been in room temperature for a duration of less than 4 hours (without refrigeration). If left un-refrigerated for a duration longer than 4 hours the milk will be spoiled and not safe for consumption creating a patient safety concern.

SECTION 7 – SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Maintain temperature Range of: 0-4 Celcius / 32 - 40 Fahrenheit
- Pharmacy/ Tissue grade fridge
- Requires units specific to breastmilk
- Specific dimensions: 23-33” H x 20.5-23.5” W x 20-25” D.
The temperatures are important for these fridges because it must be able to maintain a temperature of 0-4 degrees C/32-40 degrees F for breastmilk and requires a pharmacy/tissue grade fridge as well as units specifically for breastmilk. Our current fridges are all having issues because they could not maintain their temperatures. We also need certain physical measurements for the fridges to place on top of our current stands since the fridges cannot be placed on the floor. The measurements the fridges need to be within are: 23-33” H x 20.5-23.5” W x 20-25” D. They also need a probe access port for REES capability.
