About this file
This document is a Notice of Intent to Sole Source for a firm fixed price supply purchase of a Preprosthetic 2 Quadrant Maxillary Implant for use in surgery at Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD). The Defense Health Agency Contracting Activity (DHACA), Western Healthcare Operations Contracting Division (WHOCD), intends to award this sole source contract to KLS Martin Limited Partnership under NAICS code 339112 (Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing) with a 1000 employee size standard. The objective is to procure a customized implant for a patient diagnosed with desmoplastic amelobastoma, a rare and aggressive tumor, in order to reconstruct the maxilla after tumor resection and restore facial aesthetics and dental function. The Government has determined that KLS Martin is the only source that can meet the minimum requirements, as there is not a reasonable expectation of obtaining offers from at least two responsible sources for the customized implant. The required delivery date is April 17, 2024. Interested sources must submit a capability statement by April 10, 2024 demonstrating their ability to provide the customized implant.
