Solicitation HT9404-13-Q-0172 Q&A
1. Q: The Westinghouse WL-8137 is an obsolete Ø3.5” Diameter guard ring UIC with a semi-spherical nose with Hydrogen fill. Do they require the semi-spherical nose?
a. A: No
2. Q: For the Westinghouse WL-8137, are there dimensional requirements?
a. A: 03.5" diameter maximum
3. Q: For the Westinghouse WL-8137, do they really need the Hydrogen gas fill?
a. A: What are my choices?
4. Q: For the Westinghouse WL-8137, what are the real response requirements (vs. picking values off a datasheet)?
a. A: as listed
5. Q: For the Westinghouse WL-8137, do they really need the 3.5 x 10-12 A/R/hr (a newer chamber would be on the order of a decade higher gamma response)?
a. A: yes, identical spec.
6. Q: For the fission chambers, the Mirion (IST) WL-23065 or the NY-10846 FC is what we would could quote. Do they want the WL-23065 or the insulated variant NY-10846? NOTE: The NY-10846 was designed for AFRRI.
a. A: the ny-10846 would be acceptable
7. Q: The WL-23065 and NY-10846 FC do not per se meet the 0.14 cps/nv. Can you specify the neutron sensitivity at a given alpha cutoff?
a. A: we have successfully used the ny-10846 chambers
