About this file
This document is a Questions & Answers file for a morgue cooler procurement. The solicitation seeks a 2-body side load morgue cooler and a transport cart with specific requirements: a 46.5" door width installation, basement location with GFCI outlet, and daytime installation between 0730-1700 hours. The cooler currently in use has non-telescoping shelving with trays sliding on rails, and the desired transport cart must have hydraulic foot-operated height adjustment ranging from 27.5 to 38.5 inches, a four-wheel brake, sanitary PVC base, large polyurethane ball-bearing casters, and a stainless steel body tray or table top. No brand-name constraints exist, and only a functional test (no training) is required at equipment turnover. The point of contact for inspection/acceptance is currently SrA Carlos Burnes, with further base access requirements to be discussed upon contract award.

Morgue Cooler Questions & Answers
1. Any brand-name or equal constraints (or strictly salient characteristics)?
There are no brand-name constraints.
2. Site conditions for install (door widths, floor load limits, power available, ventilation, staging area).
46.5” is the width of the door, I am unsure on the load limits but the morgue is in the basement, there is a GFCI outlet on the wall where the cooler is to be installed, there is ventilation in the morgue, the equipment can likely be staged on our loading dock or in the morgue.
3. Government/contractor responsibilities for utilities prep and any after-hours access constraints.
The installation should be completed during duty hours 0730-1700
4. Acceptance/inspection POC and any base escort/pass requirements beyond standard VCC processes.
For now, any questions regarding inspection/acceptance shall be directed to SrA Carlos Burnes. On contract award, there will be an inspection/acceptance POC. Further base access requirements will also be discussed
5. Whether training and on-site functional test are required at turnover.
No training, just a functional test to see that the cooler works.
6. The standard 2 Body Side load coolers, and transport carts we sell, have either 23" or 27" pull out body trays. The solicitation specifically asks for a 24.25" wide body tray, which is a very unique tray width and not readily available in the market. Is a 23" or 27" wide tray an acceptable alternative?
The body trays we currently have stay in the cooler, the transport carts we want will double as a mobile autopsy table. Far as what carts and trays these are specifically, this will be answered soon.
7. There is a wide variety of transport carts available that would meet your description. Can your team confirm which of the two styles shown would be preferable? The flat top cart allows for trays OR bodies to be placed on it and is about half the price of the removable tray transport cart.
Question will be answered soon.
8. Can you please confirm the type of cadaver cart in mind within this RFQ? Also, the 2 body side Load cooler, is it with the telescoping shelving?
We need an adjustable cadaver cart that could also be used to perform autopsies. For the cooler, the one currently in use does not have telescoping shelving, the tray slides on rails.
9. MORE INFORMATION ABOUT TRANSPORT CART, (Does not have to be electric)
