Cyber Security Division

Cyber Security Division Transition to Practice Video Production

I. Introduction Cybersecurity is a shared responsibility across the public and private sectors. In response to the

2011 White House’s Federal Cybersecurity Research and Development (R&D) Plan, which identifies successful transition of cybersecurity technology from research to operational use as a critical area, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology (S&T) initiated the Transition to Practice (TTP) program. Transition continues to be a high priority in the 2016

R&D Plan. The mission of TTP is to identify mature federally funded cybersecurity research, current focus is on Department of Energy (DoE), National Science Foundation (NSF) grantees, Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDCs) and Department of Defense

(DoD) National Lab research, and transition into products that are available to the entire

Homeland Security Enterprise. TTP accomplishes its mission by developing partnerships and serving as a connection point between the federal research community, network operators

(CIO/CISO), and private industry. Additionally, TTP’s outreach relies heavily on developed materials such as a technology guide, website content and videos to communicate with our targeted stakeholders.
