For this contract, USSC-assigned responsibilities pertain to three NASA HSFS missions. The CCP mission provides transportation to-and-from the International Space Station (ISS) at an anticipated rate of two flights per year. The Artemis mission provides deep-space exploration capability for missions to the moon and beyond at an anticipated rate of one flight per year. The Soyuz mission provides transportation to-and-from the ISS at an anticipated rate of two flights per year, landing and landing in Kazakhstan.
For CCP, 1 AF, Det 3 will accomplish mission planning and train DoD forces to provide world-wide rescue response, within orbit inclination limits of 51.6 degrees North and South latitudes, in the event of a launch, on-orbit or landing contingency. For Artemis, 1 AF, Det 3 will accomplish mission planning and train Naval forces to provide nominal end-of-mission recovery for the flight crew and crew module at a designated splashdown location. In the event of an Artemis contingency, 1 AF, Det 3 will accomplish mission planning and train DoD forces to provide world-wide rescue support, within launch and landing inclination of 38.5 degrees, for the flight crew and facilitate subsequent retrieval/salvage operations to return the crew module.
