1. Background: The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Logistics Management Directorate along with United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is part of the National Response Framework (NRF) to provide local, and State governments assistance through management of an emergency power mission including procurement, installation and operation of generators following major disasters. The current generator fleet is comprised of 23 different manufactures and 93 sizes and has an age range of five (5) years to 31 years. USACE and FEMA formed a working group to determine the way ahead to reduce the current generator fleet as well as reducing the amount of generators in each assigned pack.

FEMA and USACE agreed to re-configure the power pack configuration while reducing the remainder of the fleet. Each CONUS Location would have 4 x 30 packs and OCONUS (Hawaii, Guam, and Caribbean) would have 3 x 30 packs. The new 30 pack would be reduced to six (6) different sizes, covering pre-identified range bands as provided below:

kW Size Range Band

15-50kW 15-60kW

100kW 61-100kW

200kW 101-200kW

400kW 201-400kW

700kW 401-704kW
